Governor of Qom: With the inauguration of major healthcare projects, Qom is set to become a hub for medical tourism in Iran.
According to the Public Relations Department of Qom University of Medical Sciences, the message from Engineer Behnam-Jou, Governor of Qom Province, on the occasion of Health Week, states:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Health Week (from May 15 to May 22) is a valuable opportunity to reflect on the exalted status of health as the foundation of human and social development, and also to express gratitude for the sincere and round-the-clock efforts of the servants in this critical field—efforts whose fruit is tranquility, peace of mind, and vitality within the heart of society.
Today, the country's health system, relying on knowledge, experience, commitment, and the spirit of self-sacrifice of physicians, nurses, experts, and all personnel in the health and treatment sectors, has been able to take effective steps toward improving health indicators, expanding preventive services, broadening justice in access to treatment services, and increasing public awareness. The continuation of this valuable path requires strengthening the culture of prevention, serious attention to healthy lifestyles, active public participation, and synergy among all institutions and social organizations.
In Qom Province, through the determination of managers, planners, and activists in the health sector, we are witnessing the formation of a major and unprecedented transformation in health and treatment infrastructure. The inauguration of the 1,000-bed Khatam Hospital, the 560-bed Noor Hospital, and the Mother Hospital (which, God willing, may be realized in the near future), as well as the start of construction operations for the 210-bed specialized children's hospital, heralds a bright future in improving the province's treatment services.
These strategic measures, alongside Qom's distinguished scientific, religious, and geographical capacities, will pave the way for transforming this province into one of the major health hubs at the national level, in the Middle East region, and even globally, and can turn Qom into an important destination in the field of health tourism and the provision of treatment services to domestic and foreign patients.
Undoubtedly, the realization of this vision is the result of the solidarity, continuous effort, and forward-looking perspective of the group of managers and activists in the province's health sector, who are worthy of great appreciation and gratitude.
Health Week reminds us of this important truth: that health is not merely the responsibility of the treatment system, but rather a social and public responsibility, and the realization of a healthy society depends on the cooperation, accountability, and participation of all members of the community.
I, in turn, while honoring Health Week, sincerely appreciate the valuable services of all the workers in this field, especially the devoted health and treatment staff of Qom Province, and I ask God Almighty for their increasing success and for the health and well-being of the noble people of the province.
